Freedom of Information Requests

Freedom of information Requests

The Freedom of Information Act 2014 ("the Act") gives you the right to access, to the greatest extent possible, records held by the Charities Regulator.  The Act asserts the right of members of the public to access official information to the greatest extent possible consistent with the public interest and the right to privacy of individuals.

Under the Act, each person has:

  • A legal right to access information held by public bodies.
  • A legal right to have official information relating to him/herself amended where it is incomplete, incorrect or misleading.
  • A legal right to obtain reasons for decisions affecting him/herself.
